Prefers: Part or dappled shade or full sun; moist but well-drained soil of any type; all aspects; exposed or sheltered spot.
Betula utilis var. jacquemontii 'Silver Shadow' is a medium-sized deciduous tree with a conical crown and clear white bark on trunk and branches. Its leaves are oval dark green and drooping, turning yellow in autumn. Male catkins appear in early spring.
