Height x Spread: 2.5m x 1.5m
Prefers: Full sun; well-drained soil of any type; east, west or south-facing, sheltered spot.
Cynara cardunculus is a robust herbaceous perennial that forms a clump of silvery-grey, spiny leaves up to 1m in length. Large thistle-like purple flowers in late summer and autumn.
