Great plants to hang near windows, nepenthes have fly-catching pods that hang from a cluster of leathery leaves. They’ll trap insects in their sticky sap at the bottom of each pod, and are great fun for boys of all ages to keep as a project! Although the plant gets most of the nutrients from the insects it eats, these plants still need a helping hand with regular watering (rainwater if you can) and a mist with a water sprayer. If you keep it near a window, make sure it’s not too bright so the plant’s leaves don’t get scorched.
