Imagine running a stunning but crumbling old country house and western Europe’s best preserved Norman keep with the knowledge that nobody knows about it? It is mad but true that even people who live half an hour away have never heard of this amazing place, however hard I stretch the marketing budget. This programme could just let people know that a day at Hedingham is fascinating and exciting, and if the garden is looking fabulous, the whole package will appeal to all sorts of people, not just architects and historians and children who love knights.
