If spots in your borders suffer from a lack of colour, you can add interest with the same kind of tricks you'd use indoors. Where in a living room you'd put a vase, in a garden, glass globes on stakes will add interest and a splash of bold shades. Better still, these can be moved around to enliven bare patches. Find them at good garden centres.
