If you like to lie in the sun - or shade - you'll need to create an area that's exactly for that purpose. So, what do you need? Ideally, a hard surface on which to place a chair. Put a lounger on grass and it will sink or sit unevenly, grass will grow long around its legs and die off underneath the seat. Natural shade is also a big bonus, so if you can put your seating area so that it's partly shaded, and partly within the sun, this will save you forever having to move the chair or a parasol around it.

Please could you give me some advice on rendering. We are planning a side extension to our kitchen, its not going to be a big build however it will make a huge differnce to inside. * 4 meters will be 3 frameless glass windows from ceiling to floor level (2.5 meters high) * there will be 2 pillars either side and a beam going across all in rendered concrete bricks * the roof will be made of 3 panels of frameless glass which will be in line with the window panels, either side again concrete blocks going up to the upstairs bedroom window(quite a steep angle) * Our architects have designed a hidden box for the guttering (as we do not want any guttering on show) * the concrete blocks will be rendered and painted a butter milk colour (our garden has a contemporary ibiza style feel, so the extension will hopefully match those elements) Our query is we want a simple sleek look to the extension and we have been told by our architect that the rendering will require some type of "copping", to protect the rendering and concrete, which we appreicate, however we feel this will totally ruin the look we are after, do you have any other ideas or advice on this matter.
