If the room you're decorating doesn't get much natural light, it's wise to choose white furniture, pale walls and a light floor covering. However, ensure the furniture and walls are wipeable, and that the floor, if carpet, is an 80/20 per cent wool/nylon mix so that it's easy to keep clean. When choosing a blue, think carefully about the tone. The walls of this room are verging on turquoise, which, although blue is a warm tone. Anything chalkier would make the room feel cold.
