Create your own winter wonderland with these hand made snow globes.

Jars and lids (screw top honey jars and baby food jars work well)

Enamel paint

Paintbrush

Figurines (water resistant figures, for example plastic cake toppers, Santa, snowmen, and mini plastic Christmas trees.)

Glue gun

Water

Glitter

Glycerin (available at pharmacies)

The children will be able to help you with this, but if you use a glue gun, you should handle it yourself.

It doesn't take long to make the snow globes, but make sure you give the glue plenty of time to dry, otherwise it could get very messy!

Paint outside of jar lids (optional). They will need two coats. Leave to dry between coats and allow to dry completely.

Step Two: Arrange the scene

Using your glue gun, generously apply your glue and stick your arrangement to the inside of the lid. Allow glue to dry completely.

Step Three: Water

Fill the jar almost to the top with water.

Step Four: Add the 'snow'

Add a teaspoon of glitter and a dash of the glycerine. (Glycerine thickens the water and creates a snowfall effect with the glitter)

Step Five: Seal the deal

Using the glue gun, line the inside of the jar lid with glue. (Optional, if you don’t want to open it again!)

Step Six: Leave to dry

Screw on the lid tightly and leave to dry.

Step Seven: Gift wrap

Add a festive gift tag to the jar neck for additional decoration (optional).
