Breakfast in bed can be a precarious business, but tea stains need not mean the end of it.

From carpets: Sponge with cold water, then clean with carpet shampoo.
From fabrics: Fresh stains can be rinsed in warm water then washed in a biological detergent. Dried marks would benefit from a pre-wash stain treatment.
From upholstery: Dab with cold water then try a solution of water and biological detergent. Rinse well and blot dry.
To remove coffee or tea stains from cups fill with hot water and add a denture tablet. Leave overnight and scrub clean. Doesn't leave an aftertaste.
