Take extra care with the gloss as spills are bad news.

Dab the mark before it dries with white spirit, then when you have removed as much as possible, wash with hot water and detergent.

To remove paint from clothing, no matter how long its been there, use equal part ammonia and turpentine. Saturate the spot(s) for several minutes and then wash with warm soapy water.

Always check manufacturer's instructions first. Always try a test patch first. If you are unsure as to whether the item you are cleaning is suitable for our instructions, take professional cleaning advice first.

  1. While I was painting my deck, I accidentally put drops of the paint on conservatory glass as well as white boundaries. Any tips on how to clean this please? It is dry now, I have tried turpentine to clean it but did not work at all. Thanks.

  2. I have had some success with this clothing removal option for oil based paint but I have also noticed that it does cause some blurring in the clothing many times. Best option don't use clothing you want to wear again when painting!!!

  11. o remove oil based paint even from coloured carpet Put Nail Varnish ACETON on cotton wool/or on a peace of cloth, dab it and scrub it and it will come off! I tried it. Due to the characteristics of the aceton it will evaporate quickly without damaging the material.

  13. Hi A decorator recently painted my walls. Walls lined horizontally and then painted with durableeasy to wipe water based paint. However the surface is not smooth, now wavy/ bumpy underneath in parts and shows other bumps and marks under surface. Should old plaster been primed before laying wallpaper or walls skimmed as I think old walls (1930's house) probably not smooth to start with. How do I solve problem? Thanks
