So often sticks just where you don’t want it to, and not where you do.

Start by sponging the area with warm soapy water to dissolve the glue – you may have to repeat this process several times.

If that doesn’t work, rub ice on the glue first to make it hard and brittle then scrape off as much as you can with a blunt knife. Rinse any remaining stain in plenty of cold water.

If neither of these tricks work, you can buy proprietary glue removers from DIY stores – they should do the job.

  1. i took up carpet from sittn room floor ther was laminate floorin underneath the carpet. i want to keep the laminate floor but can get the carpet glue off it ,PLEASE PLEASE, can someone give me some advice on what i could use to remove his glue hope to hear from yous,a.s.a.p,,thank you,,MARIAN O BRIEN

  2. Fistly my partner and I simply adore you two on the telly as you make cleaning a home so entertaining and as the man in the house well I have certainly had my eyes open to what Tracy deals with. My question to you guys is how to remove stickers from the fridge doors as the stickers have dried and we cant get the glue residue off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated so I can get this chore done. Thanks and kep cleaning. Regards Clive

  4. Please help, we have silicon sealent on a few bath room tiles where a mirror was stuck up with it, it is easy to remove the lumps with a stanley knife blade but it leaves a slight residue behind, how do we remove the residue as it is white and the tiles are blue so it is easily seen, please help.

  5. I Have PVA Glue On My Carpet An I Carnt Get It Off I Have Tried Nail Varnish Remover And Glue Remover Soapy Water I Just Dont Know How.I Was Wondering If Anyone Knows How.?

  6. I had gotten some stong glue on my counter tops and tried everything to remove it...nothing quite did it. Then I read a tip to use nail polish remover...it worked....let it sit on the glue for a couple of minutes...it turned white and flaked off. I did have to do a couple of applications as it had been there awhile!(I watch the ladies alot..always AMAZED at the filth of the homes they find and how clean they are able to get them!)
