  1. A Kenyan friend of mine told me the best way to remove curry is to work talcum powder into the stain. She said it's the oil that makes the stain so soaking it up stops the stain holding. It will form a cake over the stain and this draws out the oil. This probably only works on fresh stains when the oil is still soaking in. It's probably also worth trying on fresh grease stains too. I once removed curry from a pale pink blouse like this and after one wash you couldn't tell I was such a mucky eater!

  3. The best thing I have found to get curry stains out of fabrics is to scrub them with soda crystals. It may leave a reddish mark. To get rid of this put it in the washing machine immediately with a mixture of soda crystals and washing powder (3/4 washing powder 1/4 soda crystals) at a temperature of approx. 40C. You can add fabric conditioner if you wish halfway through the wash cycle.
