Keeping blinds spick and span is fiddly, but no specialist equipment is required.
Every week: Regular vacuuming will prevent dust building up on Venetian blinds – use the upholstery tool and get into as many nooks and crannies as you can.
Once a month: use a soft cotton glove, sock or tumble dryer sheet and carefully run it over each slat, from the centre to the outside edges, on both sides.

Really dirty metal or plastic-type Venetians can take a bath. Take down the blind and lay it in the tub, on top of a towel preferably to prevent scratches. Cover with water and a squirt of washing up liquid and leave to soak for half an hour. Clean slats gently with a soft cloth, making sure your hands don’t get nicked by any sharp edges, then empty the water, rinse and hang to dry on a washing line or fence.
To disguise stains, dust and splashes on Venetian blinds, why not rotate them for a temporary measure.
