It may be stainless but it still needs cleaning you know!
Clean up stainless steel with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Beat heavier marks with cream cleaner or a bicarbonate of soda and water paste. Avoid abrasive cleaners that might scratch the surface.
Perk up dull stainless steel with a bracing rub using a paste of baking soda and water.
Remove limescale with vinegar or lemon juice.
To keep stainless steel splash backs and hobs smear-free clean first and then rub over with a cotton wool with a tiny amount of baby oil on it. Gets rid of smear and seems to stop food getting crusted on.

Cookers- when your stainless steel in the oven are brown with burnt on food, place them in a bath of hot water with a sprinkle of washing powder and leave over night - the next day the dirt will slide off when you wash them and also removes any stains in your bath so it kills two birds with one stone!

You don't need stainless steel balls or spoons to remove those odours on hands, if you have a stainless steel sink just rub your hands around it and odours will vanish. Even works on onion smells.

Wipe a stainless steel hob with baby oil and when you spill or splash food on it, it will just wipe off with ease.

To clean a stainless steel sink: I sprinkle bicarbonate of soda all over sink and tap. Then with a tiny spritz of proprietary all-purpose cleaner with bleach. Scrub gently with a nylon scourer, then dampen micro-fibre cloth or any cloth with warm water and remove it all. Buff to a shiny dry sink. I find micro-fibre clothes in the automotive department of any discount retail shop. I love you Kim and Aggie. Stevie in the States (Seattle).

Use white tooth paste with baking soda in it to clean stainless steel, it works great and leaves it shiny. Just rub on, let it set a little and clean off with plain water. It also works well if I do it to my stainless steal tea kettle when it gets nasty.

To shine stainless steel sinks generously sprinkle either table salt or baking soda into the sink then use the cut end of half a fresh lemon as a scrubby-pad. Rinse with hot water and the sink will gleam!

Always check manufacturer's instructions first. Always try a test patch first. If you are unsure as to whether the item you are cleaning is suitable for our instructions, take professional cleaning advice first.
