Clean regularly or don’t bother and claim it’s shabby chic!

White Furniture. How To Clean Painted Furniture

Every week: Dust the piece regularly with a damp or microfibre cloth.

Clean painted furniture with a mild solution of washing-up liquid and warm water, using a small brush if necessary to get into any carved mouldings etc.

Chipped paint: Sand back around the chip to get rid of any other loose flakes of paint, then repaint that area.

To remove hair dye or paint from a painted surface spray surface with plenty of cheap hairspray and leave, then rinse with hot water and then repeat until it comes out.

  1. I have recently bought painted wooden furniture for my babies nursery. I am looking for tips on how to get rid of new furniture smell inside wardrobes and drawers? I have tried washing out using washing up liquid but it still has a strong smell.
