Dust loves a light fitting, but renewing the sparkle is a doddle.

Every week: Get the duster brush attachment on your vacuum and simply suck away to remove dust from lights and lamps.
More stubborn marks can be removed with a dampened cloth. Don’t forget the light bulb – if it’s covered in dust it will smell acrid when warm and won’t work as efficiently.
Really good tip...!!!! to clean your lamp shades put half a cup of Lenor in a bowl of warm water and wipe them down... when finished every time you turn your light on it will smell lovely and fresh....

Brighten a whole room by dry dusting the light bulbs! Also from learning the hard way: NEVER wipe those light bulbs with a dryer sheet! It smells so good at first, then the perfume burns and smokes and turns your bulb black. Live & learn!

Rub a small amount of aromatherapy oil onto light bulbs (make sure they are turned off) when the lights are turned on the bulbs heat up and you get a lovely scent!

The lazy person's approach to cleaning light fixtures: Remove the glass globes from your light fixtures, place them in the top rack of your dishwasher, and run them through a normal cycle. Don't try this with antiques or lead crystal globes as the dishwasher powder might cause etching.M
