Before using the barbecue: wipe the grills with cooking oil to prevent food sticking.

After cooking: Clean the grills while they are still warm – scrub off food deposits with scrunched up aluminium foil, then wash with in warm soapy water.

When I need to clean my gas barbeque I spray on oven cleaner and steam it off with my steam cleaner it comes up like new. For hard to remove grease I add a bit of washing up liquid with water in a spray bottle.

  1. I find that half an onion cleans a grill well when it is still hot. You don't need to worry about what is left on the grill as the onion just adds a bit of flavour if anything.
