If you’re planning to move to the States and are not citizens then you’ll need a Green Card to live there permanently. The most common way into the US is if you are planning to set up a business.

A Green Card is a document that registers and is proof of an individual’s right to work and live within the USA permanently. It is not the same as citizenship as there are limitations to what a Green Card holder is allowed to do, for example staying out of the country for undisclosed periods of time. It is later possible to apply for citizenship through the naturalisation process.
There are a number of ways to enter the USA with a Green Card. The application types are detailed below.
Only United States citizens may adopt a child in the United States. In case of married couples, at least one of the adopting parents needs to be a United States citizen in order to adopt a foreign child. The child also needs to be legally available for adoption.
This requires two things - firstly, Labor Certification. Labor Certification proves that there are no qualified American citizens suitable for the position that has been offered to you. Secondly, Green Card Employment Petition proves that you qualify for a Green Card and that a job has been offered to you.

Green Cards Through Investment (also called the Fifth Preference Green Card or EB-5) are available to anyone who invests a certain amount of money United States by creating a business or expanding one that already exists.
The investor must be active in the management of the company, but there are several immigration and investment requirements that must first be met. Green Card Investment Annual Quota is 10,000, but only the primary applicant counts toward the annual quota, and not the accompanying relatives.
Spouses of U.S. citizens are considered ‘immediate relatives’ under immigration laws; therefore they are excluded from all numerical quota limitations. This means that there are an unlimited number of Green Cards available to foreign nationals who marry U.S. citizens. If the foreign national is currently outside the United States, it is possible to obtain a K-1 Fiancée and Fiancé Visa so the foreign national can come to the United States to marry the U.S. citizen once he or she arrives in the country.
The United States Government issues 55,000 Green Cards every year through the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, commonly known as the Green Card Lottery. Applicants are selected randomly by a computer-generated drawing. If selected, the main applicant, spouse and all unmarried children under 21 years of age will have a chance to apply for permanent resident status in the United States.
Obtaining a Green Card through relatives is one possible option for individuals who have close relatives or family members in the United States. Family members may be eligible to apply for permanent residence (Green Card) if the sponsoring relative is a United States citizen. You may submit an application for a Green Card if you have a close family member who is a United States citizen by birth or through naturalization.
