Buying Property In Australia

If you want to research your family roots in Oz, there are plenty of great resources at your fingertips.

One of the best places to start tracing a name is through the Australian telephone directories. Start with the Australian White Pages - this includes business and residential directories.

The National Archives of Australia website explains how to search the country's records of migration and travel. These records hold information about individuals and families that travelled to Australia throughout the 20th century and in many cases are detailed enough to include photographs.

Australia's Births, Deaths and Marriages Registries are accessible via a central website. From here you can click through to the relevant region to find out more.

The Australian government also has a Family History website with loads more information for people who want to start tracing their Aussie ancestry.

Get clicking - you never know, you might find a long lost rellie down under.
