Let’s hear it for Almoravid, Almohad and Merenid, the long-gone dynasties which put their stamp on Moroccan architecture and made it something really special. Today’s architecture is a real mix, with the traditional forms and decoration of the Mausoleum Mohammed V in Rabat, by Vo Toan (1967), the shimmering dome of the Orient-Occident Foundation Library in Rabat, by Noureddine Komiha (2000), and the uncompromisingly contemporary Valeo factory, Bouznika, Valode & Pistre (2001).
