The storybook buildings we’ve come to associate with Germany are carefully preserved in many towns, with half-timbering, stepped gables and decorative painting on walls. In Bavarian Dinkelsbuhl, Renaissance mansions from around 1600 on Weinmarkt proudly show off the style.
