It’s big and it’s impressive. Built to rival St Peters in Rome, and with a dome to match, Frederikskirken, also known as the Marmor, or marble church, holds the distinction of a seriously lengthy build-time. It was started in 1749, and by the time it was finished a century later, its famed architect Nicolai Eigtved was long gone.
