A grand complex in a real mix of styles, Christiansborg was damaged by fires in 1794 and 1884, and rebuilt each time. The showgrounds are the remaining part of the first baroque palace from 1700, the chapel is in neo-classical style from the 1800s, and its latest incarnation was completed in 1928 in neo-baroque style. Today it houses the offices of the Prime Minister and parliament.
