Roskilde Cathedral, in Gothic style, was one of Denmark’s first brick buildings. Commissioned by Absalon, bishop of Zealand, it’s a two storey building with a gallery behind the chancel and has two distinctive towers. There have been churches on this site for 1000 years, and this one was completed in the 13th Century, using around 3 million bricks – that’s a whole lot of Lego. In 1995 it was added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.
