At the root of the transformation is the move of all the administrative offices into a slim new building erected between the hall and the railway line. This frees up much of the Festival Hall’s internal spaces.
On the river façade, the dingy service road has become an elegant parade of restaurants and shops. With landscaping by Gross:Max, the public square at the back is once more a thriving urban space.
