How To Guide
If you’re sitting tight and waiting before putting your
property on the market, you can still enhance its appeal by using a few clever tricks to
spruce it up – this way, you’ll be one step ahead of the pack when it comes
to viewings.
- Give your home good ‘kerb appeal’ – tidy up the outside front space,
make a neat area for the bins, repaint the front door and add a few plants
- When you’re ready to sell, clean the windows and have the frames repainted. Replace
any damaged roof tiles with new ones
- De-clutter the interior of your home. If you have too many things, hire a storage unit
and stash them away
- Don’t tidy to excess – people like to see a ‘lived-in’ feel
- Find out what kind of buyers your property might attract – are they young couples
or families? Leave items on display that could appeal to them
- No cash for a new kitchen? Don’t worry – you can cheaply refresh the whole
look of your kitchen by repainting tired tiles and buying new cupboard doors and modern
handles
- Refresh your bathroom space – spruce up grotty tiles with a grouting pen, and leave
fluffy towels on display
- If you have a garden, tidy it up, mow the lawn and buy some big statement plants. Borrow
some garden furniture to make it look like a nice space to relax
