Jam, bread and butter pudding recipe

Wholesome and comforting, Tom O'Connor proves why you can't go wrong with a traditional, English bread and butter pudding on Celebrity Come Dine With Me


  • 50g butter
  • 8 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 50g strawberry jam
  • 2 eggs
  • 600ml whole milk
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar


How to make jam, bread and butter pudding

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas mark 4. Butter the bread, spread with jam then cut into squares and arrange in a buttered 1.5 litre dish.

2. Whisk the eggs, milk and sugar together, leave for 10 minutes then pour over the bread.

3. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until golden and serve hot with cream.
