Pumpkin pie recipe

Skip proved he was as American as pumpkin pie, with his down-home dessert on Come Dine With Me Lincolnshire

Serves 5

Ingredients

  • 425g can pumpkin purée
  • 285ml evaporated milk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • 175g sugar
  • 2 x medium sized pastry cases
  • Whipped cream, to serve

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas mark 4. In a bowl combine all the filling ingredients then pour into the pastry cases.

  2. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely and serve with whipped cream
