Come Dine With Me

Marinated prawns with scallops and bacon recipe

Nasty Nick Bateman hoped to bag the prize with a sophisticated starter on Come Dine With Me Celebrity Pantomime Special

Serves 5

Ingredients

  • 15 raw peeled prawns
  • 2cm piece root ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • Splash of Madeira wine
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 5 rashers streaky bacon
  • 10 scallops
  • Olive oil
  • Rocket leaves, to serve

Method

  1. Marinate the uncooked prawns in bowl with the ginger, garlic, Madeira and sea salt for 30 minutes.

  2. In a hot pan fry the bacon until crisp then finely chop.

  3. Dry the scallops with a paper towel, and gently brush with oil. Heat a frying pan until smoking hot. Place one scallop at the top of the pan in the midday position and continue clockwise until you are back to the first, then one by one turn them over.

  4. Place the marinated prawns in the middle of the pan and fry for 4 minutes. Serve on a bed of rocket with the scallops and the bacon scattered over.

Please note this recipe is the contestant's own and has not been tested professionally. Like the Come Dine With Me contestants, you could be creating a culinary delight or dining disaster, so switch on your ovens and be bold.
