Chilli chicken burgers recipe

Chef Atul Kochhar cooked this dish to showcase habanero chillies on Drop Down Menu

Serves 4


  • 500g chicken breast, minced
  • 1 habanero chilli, diced
  • ½ medium red onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp lime zest
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp ground coriander seeds

To serve

  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • ½ cucumber, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Mayonnaise, to taste


  1. Mix all the ingredients together gently, without over mixing. Shape into 4 patties and grill on a medium heat for 10 minutes, turning once or twice until the burgers are cooked through.

  2. Serve on buns lined with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and mayonnaise.
