Carlton Palmer heads to culinary school to impress the lads on Come Dine With Me Footballers Special
He might have18 England caps but, when it comes to cooking, Carlton Palmer is no pro. "We'll have a few drinks and, hopefully, if my food's not good they won't remember," he laughs.
Carlton's menu is an adventurous seafood spectacular and his guests don't think he's up to the challenge. "If he pulls that off, I'll give him £1000 myself," says sceptic Razor.
As the threat of a slap-up dinner looms, there's a touch of sour grapes among some of the rivals.
"I don't see fish knives, and that's a problem," Fash complains, apparently forgetting he served warm white wine on his evening.
Carlton's night has a World Cup theme - the host dresses up in his England kit, Fash arrives in a Nigeria shirt, Frank bears Brazil's strip and Razor comes as an honorary Dutchman. There's more fashion chat as Razor recalls Fash was the first footballer to wear coloured boots.
"Thank you," says a smug Fash.
"Everybody laughed," says Razor.
Carlton's starter was a delicate baked crab pot with Swiss cheese and wholegrain mustard.
His well-practiced main was grilled sea bass with pesto crushed potatoes and sauce vierge.
And to top it all off, Bailey's cheesecake with strawberry compote.
