Work Experience

Channel 4 offers a limited number of short-term work placements to people with a strong desire to work in the media.

Due to the large volume of applicants we receive, these positions are in high demand and successful candidates will need to demonstrate a keen desire to work at the Channel.

If you are interested and would like to apply for a placement, please return the on-line application form, so that we have a clearer view of your suitability. You will receive an acknowledgement that we have received your form. Should we have an opportunity to take your application forward, we will ask you to send in your c.v.

If you are interested in a career in production, please note that Channel 4 commissions almost all of its programmes from independent production companies and therefore we do not produce programmes in-house. You could contact the production companies directly who may be able to help you with a work placement. Please do not apply here for production related work experience.

You may like to visit IDEASFACTORY (www.channel4.com/ideasfactory), a dynamic new initiative from Channel 4 to help young people get into the Creative Industries. It covers Film & Television, New Media, Art & Design, Music & Sound, Writing, and Performing in a lively, realistic, networked way. It combines highly practical on-line resources/activity with live training/masterclass events and 'real world' business/career support across the UK.

If you would like some further careers or training information about the broadcasting industry, you can visit the Skillsformedia website www.skillsformedia.com or call them directly on 08080 300900. Skillsformedia are a careers advisory team, and were established by Skillset and BECTU. You may also like to visit the PACT website at www.pact.co.uk.

Good luck!
