Verdict

Pleasant, smart and accomplished, but not terribly exciting.

Volkswagen Tiguan Review

Running Costs3 out of 5

It'll be cheaper than a thirsty Touareg to run, but some way short of a Golf's economy: the 1.4 TSI engine returns 33.6mpg and 199/km of carbon dioxide, and thus fits in a high-ish tax banding. The diesel's 39.2mpg and 189g/km is better, but not outstanding. Best wait for a more economical BlueMotion model if this is a priority.
