Category: Small Family
Price Range: £19,295 to £26,225
VW image; compact size; manageable running costs; car-like driveability; reasonably practical.
Dull styling; expensive for what it is.
Pleasant, smart and accomplished, but not terribly exciting.

Standard equipment includes side, head and curtain airbags as well as stability control - a must-have in a high-riding SUV with a higher centre of gravity than a conventional passenger car.
Four-wheel drive gives good grip on slippery roads and, as a Volkswagen, the Tiguan has a strong structure - which has helped it to Euro NCAP scores of five stars for adult occupant protection, four for child occupant protection and two (out of four) for pedestrian protection.
There are Isofix child seat mounting points and rear side airbags, and optional belt pre-tensioners for the outermost rear seats.
