Category: Small Family
Price Range: £19,295 to £26,225
VW image; compact size; manageable running costs; car-like driveability; reasonably practical.
Dull styling; expensive for what it is.
Pleasant, smart and accomplished, but not terribly exciting.

Secondhand Volkswagens are never the cheapest and the Tiguan is not likely to be any exception - good news for those who bought new, who will see a strong return on their investment, but not so good for secondhand buyers, unlikely to find a bargain for a while. That said, the increased numbers of compact SUVs available in the next few years may depress residual values and much will depend on the impact this slightly underwhelming Tiguan actually makes on the new-car market.
