Volkswagen Scirocco Review

Running Costs4 out of 5

Not only is the Scirocco better to drive than a Golf GTI it's cheaper to run too.

The 197bhp 2.0 turbo petrol averages 37.2mpg emitting 179g/km of carbon dioxide. Both figures better the Golf meaning the VW coupe is a band lower for road tax (VED band E) and is a 23% tax liability - 2% lower than the hatch.

The 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TDI are even better. The 1.4 TSI averages 43.5mpg and emits 154g/km, while the 138bhp diesel averages 52.3mpg.

Insurance groups for the range are expected to mirror the Golf.
