Volkswagen Golf GTI Review

Safety and Security4 out of 5

Six airbags, active front head restraints which move forward in a rear-end shunt to reduce whiplash, a five-star EuroNCAP rating for the Golf range and that remarkable ESP system all make the Golf a very safe car. The range has also gained three stars for pedestrian safety. The current range's bodyshell is claimed to be 80 percent stiffer than the Mk4's, which is not only good news in a crash but also helps towards the crisp, accurate handling feel.
