Vauxhall Zafira (1999-2005) Review

Category: Compact MPV 3.5 out of 5

Summary of the Vauxhall Zafira (1999-2005)

Price Range: £16,495 to £24,995

Assets

Brilliantly packaged, lively, well-built.

Drawbacks

Fussy cruising, wallowy ride, dull interior, not as safe as the best.

Verdict

One of the cleverest MPVs, but lacks flair.

Vauxhall Zafira Review

Overview3.5 out of 5

An MPV is a useful alternative to an estate car, and the Zafira is particularly useful because it cleverly squeezes seven seats into its compact package. The rearmost seats slide invisibly under the floor when not needed.

Engines are 1.6, 1.8 and 2.2-litre 16-valvers, and a direct-injection turbodiesel. There's also a 'hot' variant, the 2.0-litre turbocharged GSi.
