Vauxhall Agila (2000-) Review

Category: City Cars 2.5 out of 5

Summary of the Vauxhall Agila (2000-)

Price Range: £9,495 to £12,625

Assets

Lovely engines, solid build, commanding stance on the move, lots of space considering external dimensions

Drawbacks

Too dear, basic, slow, notchy gearchange, not exactly stylish, not as efficient/comfortable/refined/etc as a Corsa...

Verdict

One of the nicer high-rise city cars - but it's just not cheap enough to earn recommendation

Vauxhall Agila Review

Reliability and Quality4 out of 5

Quality is reasonable for such a tiny car, but it still doesn't feel as solid as, say, a Ford Ka. The doors feel lightweight, though don't sound tinny, when you slam them, while the upright driving position and stark dash don't really give the impression of luxury. At least it's likely to be reliable though, with proven engines and plenty of Japanese procedures in the Polish plant where it's made. And the mix of Suzuki and Vauxhall switchgear should keep rattles at bay for a good while.
