Toyota Land Cruiser (2003-) Review

Category: Large 4x4s 4 out of 5

Summary of the Toyota Land Cruiser (2003-)

Price Range: £40,395 to £56,350

Assets

Toughness, off-road ability, value for money, honest all-round abilities

Drawbacks

Roly-poly on-road ride, light steering, feels dated

Verdict

A great working vehicle for towing, farm work and hard graft, but not the best choice for the lifestyle set

Toyota Land Cruiser Review

Safety and Security4 out of 5

The bodyshell has been upgraded for enhanced crash protection, and standard equipment includes ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist, and driver, front passenger, side and roof-mounted curtain airbags. All seats, including the third row in the five-door, have three-point seatbelts and adjustable headrests, and the outer seats in the second row have ISOFIX child seat mounting points. The biggest danger in high-rise vehicles of this nature is instability and rollover accidents; electronic Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is standard on LC4 and LC5 specification models and optional on the others. Security measures include the usual alarm and immobiliser, plus shielded door locks and double locking. No NCAP crash test results as yet.
