Toyota Land Cruiser Review

Running Costs3.5 out of 5

Running costs and, more specifically, how much it will cost to repair the Land Cruiser, have been an underlying priority in the Toyota's development. It's the reason why aluminium hasn't been used in the construction and why the Land Cruiser perseveres with what is generally perceived to be more old-fashioned underpinnings - ladder frame chassis are more durable, stronger and more resistant to off-road damage.

Despite boasting best-in-class fuel consumption, in the UK a Land Cruiser will be a pricey proposition to run. The full-sized 4x4 averages 27.7mpg and attracts the maximum 35% tax liability for business users, thanks to polluting to the tune of 270g/km.
