Toyota Auris Review

Safety and Security4.5 out of 5

The Auris has had safety engineered in, as well as bolted on, thanks to a steel chassis that forms a sturdy protective cage, with extra bracing designed to divert the force of an impact away from the occupants. The nine standard airbags include a knee airbag for the driver - a first in this class. There are Isofix child seat fittings in the back, and the front seats have a new anti-whiplash design. The Euro NCAP crash testers have rated the Auris with a healthy set of star ratings: five for adult occupant protection, four for child occupants and three for pedestrian protection.

It's probably not the hottest target for thieves - the Corolla was a notable absentee from Nicolas Cage's blackboard in Gone in 60 Seconds - but every Auris comes with remote central double locking, and most have an alarm.
