Style, prestige, space, quality, economy and, of course, that Audi badge
Uncompromising ride, poor forward and rear visibility, noisy engines
One of the poshest small cars around; fantastic quality, quirky yet smart styling and good economy all appeal. The ride's too firm and visibility poor, but the A2 is nonetheless a desirable machine, if an expensive one.

Beware bodywork damage: this aluminium A2 could be expensive to repair as it can't be dealt with by any old local paint shop. Servicing and repairs at an Audi dealer's won't be as cheap as for other cars this size, though service intervals are variable, and if driven sympathetically, the A2 can go up to 30,000 miles between services. Make sure to check those fluid levels through the little flap, though.
Sadly, UK buyers were never offered the '3-Litre' (three litres of fuel per 100km, or 94mpg) 1.2 diesel engine, but even the 90bhp 1.4 TDI returned a very creditable 65.7mpg, and tax bandings are correspondingly low thanks to the low carbon dioxide outputs.
