Style, prestige, space, quality, economy and, of course, that Audi badge
Uncompromising ride, poor forward and rear visibility, noisy engines
One of the poshest small cars around; fantastic quality, quirky yet smart styling and good economy all appeal. The ride's too firm and visibility poor, but the A2 is nonetheless a desirable machine, if an expensive one.

The light but strong aluminium structure means the A2 scores a creditable four stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests. It fared well in the frontal, side and pole tests, the standard fitment of driver passenger and side airbags assisting in this score. The New Car Security Ratings (NCSR), compiled by Thatcham, praises the A2 for its theft prevention measures, all A2s coming with an alarm and immobilser as standard. Neat touches like the false rear floor allow you to stow valuables out of sight and the standard features like ABS and traction control also assist in making the A2 as safe as possible.
