Audi A2 (2000-2005) Review

Category: Superminis 2.5 out of 5

Summary of the Audi A2 (2000-2005)

Price Range: No data available

Assets

Style, prestige, space, quality, economy and, of course, that Audi badge

Drawbacks

Uncompromising ride, poor forward and rear visibility, noisy engines

Verdict

One of the poshest small cars around; fantastic quality, quirky yet smart styling and good economy all appeal. The ride's too firm and visibility poor, but the A2 is nonetheless a desirable machine, if an expensive one.

Review

Used Value3 out of 5

The A2 proved a good investment for its new buyers, holding onto its value very well. Curiosity value and its relative rarity, until recently, as an upmarket premium-brand model in this sector have kept second-hand values high. Even seven-year-old, high-mileage examples are currently still advertised at £4,000-plus. That's some saving on the near-extortionate new price, obviously, but a lot of money for an ageing car this size despite its superior quality and desirability.
