Subaru Legacy (1998-2002) Review

Category: Large Family 4.5 out of 5

Summary of the Subaru Legacy (1998-2002)

Price Range: £20,400 to £27,400

Assets

Space, flat-four engines, reliability, driver enjoyment.

Drawbacks

Anonymous-to-ugly styling, low ground clearance for off-roading.

Verdict

The Legacy might be too bland for some, but it's an equally impressive all-rounder for executive motorway cruising or family load-lugging. Very able.

Subaru Legacy Review

Overview4.5 out of 5

Crowd pleaser

The Legacy saloon and estate range is refined, superbly engineered and powerful yet practical. The Legacy is an enjoyable drive too, though better in standard ride-height saloon and estate form than as the Outback variant. All models have permanent four-wheel drive, a high level of standard equipment and plenty of space - particularly the cavernous estates.
