All Imprezas now have front and side airbags, with the front passenger getting a dual-stage bag that can react to the severity of the crash. The brake pedal is designed to snap off under severe impact to help prevent injury to the driver's lower limbs. There are also two Isofix child seat mountings in the back.

The risk of theft is a particular worry with the STi, so it comes with a satellite tracking system. All models have central locking, shielded deadlocks and a Category 1 remote alarm/immobiliser. So you'll need nothing less than a low-loader to nick this one...
