Assets

Good value for money; a good compromise between performance and everyday usability.

Drawbacks

Feels neither as quick nor as performance-focused as other WRX iterations.

Verdict

Not the most hardcore of hot hatches, but exceedingly enjoyable nonetheless.

Subaru Impreza WRX Review

Reliability and Quality4 out of 5

Subaru scores well in reliability and customer satisfaction surveys, with any blips in its record usually down to privately-imported, Far Eastern-spec examples which have not been tuned to run on European fuel.

The Impreza has always stood up well to the use and abuse it gets from boy racers, and Subaru's flat-four 'boxer' engines are highly turbocharged, well-proven and durable.

The Impreza's cabin does feel dark and dated, however, with hard and cheap-looking black plastics. Still, who cares, when the car's so much fun to drive?
