Vauxhall Frontera (1998-) Review

Category: Small 4x4s 1 out of 5

Summary of the Vauxhall Frontera (1998-)

Price Range: No data available

Assets

Reasonable range of engines. Pretty good off road, and there's plenty of space inside.

Drawbacks

Rubbish on road. Diesel is rough. All are slow. V6 engine is pointless. Image still a problem.

Verdict

Not even ideal for those who want a workhorse. A style wagon it is not. One of the worst cars you can buy.

Review

Overview1 out of 5

The first-generation Frontera was not a success in the burgeoning market for 4x4s, suffering a number of handling and reliability problems. When it was replaced by a similar-looking version in 1998, the Frontera was much improved, but it's still way off the pace set by many of its rivals. It's not even that fashionable any more, either.
