The Octavia holds its value far better than Skodas of old. It's a practical, roomy family-sized car, and diesel versions are particularly popular. Because most Octavias are bought by private owners, they tend to be kept long-term so it there aren't many second-hand examples to choose from. Second-hand prices are comparatively high - the only super-cheap Octavias around are worn-out ex-taxis.
